Hi I'm Lauren Schmidt

I am from Fairfield, Montana I love the outdoors & playing tennis I will be attending Brigham Young University Idaho I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of The Church my whole life and it has been one of the greatest blessings in my life. I have a wonderful mother and father who have raised me in this Church and I am very grateful for them. My father passed away when I was 10 years old. His death has been one of the biggest challenges in my life but because I have a knowledge of the gospel, I know that I will be with him again. I have three older siblings all married with children. They have been my role models that I look up to knowing that I can trust them. I've been born and raised in the Big Sky of Montana. I love the outdoors and everything affiliated with it like camping, four wheeling, boating and hiking. I spend my free time reading books, playing tennis, photography or hanging out with my family and friends. I am currently attending Brigham Young University - Idaho and studying Health Science.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up with my parent’s testimony as they taught me about Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith. As I grew older, there came a point in my life where I needed to find out if what I have been taught was true. I found myself each night reading the scriptures and studying with true intent, pondering the words I read and praying on my knees. One night, I started to evaluate my life and realized that the greatest happiness I've received has been through being a member of this Church. Knowing that I am a daughter of God brings me comfort in knowing that I am never alone. God’s always near me. I can call on Him in prayer and I know that as long as I’m doing what’s right, I can feel the Holy Ghost with me wherever I go.

How I live my faith

Growing up in a small town in Montana wasn't easy, as it is in any small town with only a few LDS members. In order to live and survive in a wicked world you need a strong foundation. For me the foundation in my life as been The Church and my personal testimony. Surviving where I grew up was a challenge. Graduating with 26 other teenagers, the pressure was on to be involved with alcohol, sex and drugs. Through attending church, daily seminary, scripture study, and prayers, I was able to make it. What helped me live my faith was being active in my callings serving in presidencies in Young Women's and serving in my early morning seminary class as secretary and president. I am currently a Gospel Principles teacher and I find myself learning and growing with each lesson I teach. Having the gospel in my life has helped me to be able to determine right from wrong and help me make goals that I want to reach so that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven.
