Hi I'm Whitney Patton

I grew up in California. I love the arts. I'm a photographer. I'm Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in sunny California and I absolutely love my life. I have two brothers and I'm the only girl in my family, expect for my mother of course. I grew up with light-sabers and ninja swords as toys, with a barbie here and there. Ever since I was young I've always been attracted to the arts. Sports were never my thing, even though my whole family has a history of doing sports, I prefer the arts. I am honestly not the strongest when it comes to typical school studies such as math, science, or English. I'm very creative and artsy with a huge imagination. At first I wanted to be an artist and draw and do paintings for a living, but than my love for acting came into play. I did acting and theater for many years and enjoyed it, but I discovered it just wasn't what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. Photography is my undying passion now. I am quite the computer wiz and can catch onto different programs. I've been editing photos since 6th grade when my father gave up one of his laptops for me to have. Now I can't stop finding new ways or tricks to give photos that special magical touch. I got my first SLR digital camera the summer before my 3rd year in high school. That camera is now my "baby," I love it dearly and take it everywhere to capture precious moments. Photography has taught me to look on the bright side of life and find the beauty in everything, and there's SO much beauty out there in the world and it takes a special eye to see it sometimes.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church all my life but I've faced moments where I slipped away and wanted no reason to part of it. I've seen my life with and without the church and I can say there has been an extreme difference. I love being LDS. You are never alone when you are part of this church. It is a huge family itself. The thing I love the most is with this church families can be together forever and that's all I want for myself. There is so much love.

How I live my faith

Being LDS is a certain way of life. By following my faith, it is built into everything I do. I strive to be more Christ-like as much as possible. My favorite activity is doing service projects with the young adult groups. It's such a blessing to see the work you've done for others, it brings pure joy.
