Hi I'm Janna

I'm a college student. I live in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Nursing. I'm currently serving as a missionary for the LDS church in the Baltic Mission, Russian speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members of the LDS church, and growing up it was a big part of my life. It wasn't something I thought a lot about until I moved away from school for college. When I first moved out it wasn't something that I felt had a big focus in my life. I went to church sometimes but most Sundays preferred catching up on my sleep. My social life and school kept me really busy and spirituality wasn't something I thought a lot about. Then my Sophomore year of college one of my good friends died in a motorcycle accident. This made me feel really lost and confused. I struggled for awhile and eventually I decided that I needed to find out if everything that I'd be taught my whole life was true or not. I got on my knees and prayed to know if I would see my friend again and if the Book of Mormon was true. As I read the Book of Mormon that night I felt a beautiful feeling of peace and love. After that experience I made more of an effort to pray and read the Book of Mormon and live its teachings. As I strived to make changes in my life I noticed that I had a lot more peace and happiness in my life. I am a Mormon because through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I've been able to draw closer to my Savior and feel his love for me. I've come to know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who is involved in the details of our lives and who wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to have love for others as Jesus did. I'm not perfect, but each day I try and look for someone who could use my help in some way. Whether that's simply giving them a smile, being a courteous driver, or being there for a friend who needs someone to listen. I've found that when I strive to do this daily I draw closer to my Heavenly Father and I find happiness in life.
