Hi I'm Kaleigh

I'm a recent high school graduate and I'll be going to school for Veterinarian Technician.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old and I am the middle child of five. I grew up in a small town in the country. I just graduated from high school this year, but during my high school years I played field hockey on the varsity team for all six years, I was vice president of my class for all of high school, and I was vice president of our Student Council my senior year. I love being involved and I'm a great leader. True friends are extremely important to me and I absolutely love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I'm mainly a Mormon because I was brought up in the church, so how about I talk about why I actually have a desire to go to church. I love church and I've always loved going to church. I have attended other churches and there's always this certain warmth that's missing and I feel so sorry for those who do attend those other churches and they feel that this is it for them. Some may think that I am biased because, like I said, I was raised in the church, but I know it's the true church and that I need to attend every Sunday, which is another reason why I go because I know it's right. You feel such a strong spirit there, and all the happiness you receive from everyone. There's such a powerful love and bond between all the members that it's such a relief and cut off from the everyday horrors of this world. I feel so close to our Savior and Heavenly Father when I'm there. These feelings are just so indescribable and personal that one can't put into words, but they are glorious feelings and they're feelings that have changed the lives of many. I am so blessed to be a part of this church and I'll never doubt the truths that I know.

How I live my faith

Being a part of the youth in our church we have many youth activities that go on weekly year round. They are amazing and extremely uplifting activities. I was recently the president of the girls in our church from the ages 12-18. Since I'm going to college I have been released from this calling, but I'll tell you the kinds of things that I did. Every Tuesday we hold a youth activity where we do all kinds of things like games, learning different home-making skills, and combine activities with the young men once a month like a pool party, mountain climbing, etc. I am the person who helps our youth church leaders organize and plan these activities. It's great fun and I love being involved with whats going on in our church. We also have regional activities for all the youth in a certain area. These are called stakes and I'm a part of the Springfield Stake which includes about seven other towns. These activities include dances and camps called girls camp and scout camp for the boys. We have a Youth Conference which is for boys and girls ages 14-18 that is a three day conference that consists of activities and talks and a dance. The youth is mainly in charge of putting together these activities with the supervision of the adult leaders, and I've been a part of this committee and have helped arrange many of these activities. Having these roles builds up great character and responsibility, and have shaped me into the person that I am today. It also allows the youth to be around those who share our same beliefs and befriend those who understand what you stand for. During these times especially these programs help strengthen our youth and encourage them to remain true to their standards. I know I would not be the person I am today had I not been a part of these activities.
