Hi I'm Logan orr

I grew up on a small farm in Canada. I'm a university student, a young husband, a new father to be, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm in Canada. I loved to spend time outside helping my dad and and my my brother chasing cows, fixing fence, taking care of the chickens, and fun stuff too like building snow forts, gopher hunting, and going sledding. I love to go back home to re-live it all. I went to school in a small rural community and enjoyed participating in sports programs and music as well. I served a full time spanish speaking mission in Long Beach California and learned to love God and my fellow brothers and sisters by serving them. I returned home and married a wonderful girl who was my high-school sweetheart. We have been married for almost two years and I can no longer imagine life without her. We are expecting a baby in October and can hardly wait for it for arrive. I am currently a university student. I am pursuing a bachelors degree in physical geography with a minor in Spanish. School is busy, but I love learning. I enjoy sports of all types, as well as anything involving the outdoors; camping, fishing, hunting. I also love to ride motorcycles.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where the gospel was taught by my parents. They taught by their words and by their actions. I always believed what they said and what i learned in church, but I never felt like I could say that I knew the church was true until I sought out an answer for myself. When I was small, maybe eleven or twelve, my older brother (who I shared a room with) began reading the Book of Mormon at night. Naturally, I wanted to do what he did, so I began to read as well. I read the Book of Mormon consistently every night and began to develop an understanding of the Savior and the Atonement, as well as other principles taught by ancient prophets. I read the Book of Mormon twice, and again, I believed what I read but was not yet certain it was true until I prayed and asked Heavenly Father specifically if it was true. It was confirmed to me that the Book is true, and now I can say that I know for myself it is true. I have continued to read the Book of Mormon and the Bible, as well as other church texts such as the Doctrine and Covenants. Over and over, by the thoughts and feelings I have experienced It has been confirmed to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints is the same church Christ established while he was on the earth, but restored in these days. It is the same church and same gospel that all the prophets of the old testament taught, and the prophets of the Ancient Americas. This knowledge has brought me great joy.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by the way i live. I try to do what a good Christian would do. I have been able to do this by being quick to help friends and family members that are in need, or participate in service projects for others. One way that I serve others is by the callings that I have in the church. I have had the opportunity to be a sunday-school teacher for the youth. I have also served in the nursery, which is where young children go during sunday school classes. I have also been able to teach lessons and help plan activities and events for other male members of the church who are my age. I try to live my faith by being obedient to what I know know to be true. I have found that being obedient to Heavenly Fathers commandments has helped me to avoid a lot of heartache. I enjoy sharing my faith with others if they are interested to know what it means to be a Mormon, and why I live the way I do.
