Hi I'm Anna

I'm a Daughter of God, a Biochemist, a lover of life and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am currently finishing my degree in Biochemistry at the University of Winnipeg. I will be continuing in the field of Medical Lab Science as soon as i can. I love Science and the complexity of it. I enjoy learning about this life and all that it has in store for me and my family. I am amazed by this world's beauty and i find great joy in all its wonders. I absolutely love life and the main reason for that, is the family that God has given me. I love them so much. My parents immigrated from Chile with my older brother. They have taught me much about who i am and helped me gain the testimony that i now have obtained through much prayer. I absolutely love to laugh and smile annnnnd i love making other people smile as well. I hope that i could make at least one persons day by making them smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member all my life, since i was born. I was baptized at age 8 and went through all the programs the church had to offer me as a kid and a teenager. Although i always relied on my parent's testimonies, i didnt really have one of my own. I would just go to church for the sake of going and because my parents would drag me along. But to say that i actually understood everything that was being taught to me at the time, would be a lie. I knew it was right but just didnt quite understand how to apply it to my life.I didn't know what to do with my life once i started university and i wasn't happy and my health and education were affected durastically. So i decided i needed a change, I became better and I began to fully understand that my Heavenly Father wants me to be happy but that can only happen if i continue to keep Him and Christ in my daily life. He has made me stronger through my trials and i love the Lord and the Gospel and what it has done for me. I am only strong through them and through the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I constantly feel the Spirit and its guidance everyday; as i read my scriptures/pray and be the best that i can be through my callings in the church and through my service and love towards others. I am nothing without Christ and im grateful for the sacrifices that He made for me and for everyone. We all have that chance to return back home to our Father in Heaven, we just have to make the first step by letting Him into our lives.

How I live my faith

I just try to apply all the learnings of the Gospel to my life. Science is a field where they try and tell you that it will screw up your belief system, which is not true. The world is a magnificent place with so many questions waiting for us to answer. We can't answer these things without our Father in Heaven because He truly knows everything therefore he gives man the opportunity to learn of these things. Everyday I learn a little about The Creation just by going to class. I learn about how the body works and how chemicals function and I think that God is this master scientist among other things. I constantly pray to Him to give thanks for the opportunities ive had to learn of the Earth and what it contains. I love service, I love volunteering and I just love helping those around me. Christ is my main exemplar in all that i try to accomplish. He showed much compassion, kindness, and charity. He had many good characteristics and the ones I named were just a few. But I try as much as I possibly can to help those in need, without seeking something in return. I love Christ and therefore I must show love to those around me.
