Hi I'm Lynda

I'm a business development professional for a U.S. government contractor and single mother of two. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am active in industry associations appropriate for my occupation and I enjoy dancing and singing, but my greatest joy is my children. I think all mothers, working outside the home or not, hope they are doing the right things for their children. For a single mother, in my experience, that concern or hope is amplified. Juggling a demanding career and trying to be mom and dad to two amazing children is no small task. I am so thankful for the stabilty and, dare I say sanity, the Gospel of Jesus Christ affords me!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 17 years old. For the first time in my life I was introduced to a perfect and Loving Heavenly Father and learned there was a plan for me and for each of us. In an uncertain world, the comfort that gives me is indescribable. I also learned it is not enough to hope the things I was being taught were true, I learned that it is my responsibility to pray and ponder about these things for myself. It had never occurred to me that God wanted me to be personally sure, not just afraid to be wrong. I received that personal confirmation of His love and plan for my life. I learned for myself through the witness of the Holy Ghost to my very soul that Jesus is the Christ and that he established His Church when he was on this Earth in the flesh. I felt the sweet joy of knowing that He has not left us alone or without comfort. I learned for myself that Joseph Smith is a Prophet and that Thomas Monson is the Lord's representative here on Earth today. In my adult life, having experienced many trials all to familiar to too many people both through my own decisions and the decisions of others, having this Gospel call out to me from the depths of my soul calling me back to the safety and comfort of my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ has enabled me to raise strong, valiant children. Our stories are not yet completely written, but I know through Faith in Jesus Christ and through adherence to the principles of the Gospel much joy will follow us all the days of our lives regardless of the circumstances around us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by seeking all good I can find and sharing that good with my children and those around me. If it is praiseworthy or of good report we seek after these things. I volunteer in my Church helping with the activities organized by the women's group. My daughter is very active with the Young Women's organization and my son is a cub scout. More importantly than what we do externally, we pray together as a family every day and we read scriptures together and my children know the decisions we make as a family are centered in Jesus Christ.
