Hi I'm Miriam

I love playing sports and games. I love spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy doing most things. Specifically I LOVE to spend time with my family. I am the youngest of six children, and love being an aunt. I love playing sports- especially basketball, running, and ultimate Frisbee. As well as all of those other things, I always enjoy watching chick-flicks, and I am always up for a game night! I am currently serving a full time mission in New Jersey. Upon completion, I will return to Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the gospel and have been an active member of this church all of my life. I love the church for lots of reasons; one specifically is because of all of the guidelines it gives me. Lots of people comment/think Mormons have lots of rules. I know at times it seems like it's very overwhelming with how many guidelines there are, but they are only there for our own safety and individual growth. The guidelines given by the current prophet, scriptures, and For the Strength of Youth have helped shape me to who I am today and need to be. Also, the church gives us an eternal perspective. It tells us why we are here on Earth and what we need to do so that we can return to our Father in Heaven. It is very comforting to me to know that I am a daughter of God and that He knows and loves me individually.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is by choosing to sacrifice 18 months of my life to serve God and His children. I have the wonderful opportunity to serve His children in the beautiful state of New Jersey! Also, throughout my life I have tried to consistently give service. I have helped make cough pillows to donate to the local hospital for people who have gone through surgery. I have also made quilts to give to people in need and have volunteered for various community service activities. Everyday I try to start my day off with scripture reading. I do this so I can invite the spirit to be with me throughout the day and to remember Christ in all of my thoughts and actions. In addition, I am striving to love everyone as myself and be the best example of a disciple of Christ I can be to my friends, family, and peers.
