Hi I'm Maddy Grant

I am a Mormon: a 19 year-old music-lover and camper called to serve as a sister missionary in Vancouver, Canada.

About Me

I am the youngest child of 7, the hard-working college student, the favorite aunt, the Trekkie, and the thrift shop enthusiast. I am going to school to become a landscape architect, but am taking an 18-month sabbatical to serve a mission in Vancouver, Canada. I am very excited to share my testimony with those that want to listen.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that had long been strong in the Gospel. I was brought to church every week and participated in all the included activities. I was never really forced to do those things, but maybe that is because I liked to be obedient. In any case, now I continue to follow the church because of my testimony and love for my Savior, Jesus Christ. There have been countless times in my life that the Holy Ghost has testified of the truth of this Gospel to me. It is something I cannot deny. I'm not perfect, and that is okay. I really try my best every day because I know it is right and I will be blessed for it. Jesus Christ has become my best friend, especially during my teenage years when I came to rely and lean upon Him. I love seeing the goodness all around me that comes from Christ. The world testifies of Him every day. He has lifted me up and held on to my hand when I couldn't make it through trials alone. His Atonement is so real. He went through a great thing, more pain than I can ever comprehend, but He did it for me, and He did it for you. What I love about Christ is that He loves everyone, even me, regardless of what I have done. I love Him for that and for giving me the opportunity to return to our Heavenly Father someday.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is not as complicated as one might think. I try every day to act as Jesus Christ would: to be kind, to serve others even when it is not convenient, to love my family, to be honest, to not judge strangers, to be merciful, and to be humble. Which means, of course, I am not good at all of these things. I get up and try again, every day, and with the help and grace of Jesus Christ, I can make improvements.
