Hi I'm Dara

I love sushi. I want to travel the world. I want my Mr. Wonderful. I love music. I still play pretend. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Dara or some people call me Daisie. I'm 19 years old and a freshmen at BYU-Idaho. My parents are divorced and my mom is remarried and my dad has a girlfriend, they have a baby together. I have 8 siblings- 4 whole siblings, 3 half siblings, and 1 step. I have been raised in the church. I was baptized when I was 8. I love my family so much. I will always be there for them they are why i live the way that i do. Without my family I would be truly lost. I love reading and writing, swimming, volleyball, fashion, theatre, music and dancing. I love hot yoga and being out in the woods, it is my happy place. My desire in my life is to make an impact on the world and to help and serve as people as possible. my trials and shortcomings are many but i try to live my life with as much joy and excitement as possible. :) I've been through a lot and made a bunch of mistakes, mostly with guys. but the Atonement of Christ has helped me find my way again and for that I am eternally grateful.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel so much. I have had 2 friends join the gospel as a result of my example. I have been with my sister, who is now getting ready to serve a mission, when she was pretty sure she was going to stop being active in the church. I have dealt with depression, bullying, eating disorders, counseling, daddy issues, self-harm and being anti-social. The gospel has helped me every one of those issues. This gospel has saved me from my self so many times and continues to be my crutch when I know i lose my way. this gospel is the best thing that has and will ever happen to me. I look forward to the future and take joy in the present. If i have learned anything in my short time here on earth, its that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there for us all the time and that we just have to open the door and they will be there on the other side of it. I am a willing servant of God. I will become a missionary when I turn 21 and i will do my best bring others into the fold of Christ. I believe in Him.

How I live my faith

I love going to church. I love going to girl's camp. I love reading the scriptures and praying. I love being with my family. I love being apart of this church. I have been a second counselor in beehives, a YCL or Youth Camp Leader at girl's camp for the last two years. I am an active participant in all Young Women activities and i love going to stake dances ;). I follow the For Strength of Youth with exactness. I'm very black and white and i don't often waver from my faith. Many people at church have helped me when i really needed someone. I live my life by following my heart and the spirit.

What is being a Mormon like?

Dara
Being a Mormon is honestly pretty easy for me. I follow the standards. A lot of them are common sense, that everyone should live by. Of course we all have that one standard that is more difficult to abide but when we make that special effort to be worthy members everything becomes easier. Yes, going to school as a Mormon can get difficult because people judge you and think that you live a certain way, when really they are just uneducated. Explaining to them why i behave a certain way is always a awesome experience for those who are willing to learn, it provides a spiritual atmosphere that results in the person being more educated than before. I'm normal. I go see movies, i go on dates, i watch tv, i have a facebook, i do not worship oranges and no i don't have horns (you can check if you want LOL) I will not have any sister wives, i want my husband all to my self. i wear normal clothes and i love listening to Hip hop and rock and pop an even some rap. I love food, all of it, there isn't anything i can't eat and yes i like caffeine in sodas. no i don't drink coffee or tea. I follow my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ, not Joseph Smith. This gospel is the best thing in the world for me and my family. Any other questions, i will be happy to answer them. Show more Show less
