Hi I'm Grant.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geophysics in 1982. Since graduation I have worked for two major Energy corporations to explore for and development oil and gas reserves. My career has given me the opportunity to travel to 5 different continents and to live overseas in Bangkok Thailand for 14 years. I am married and have 4 children, the oldest two children are married. I have lived in various places in the United States and have enjoyed the diversity. I enjoy traveling and seeing new places. I also enjoy photography, hiking, camping and backpacking. My family is very important to me, and spending time with them is one of my greatest joys.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I believe the church is the restored gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have read the Holy Bible a number of times and enjoy using it together with the Book of Mormon to help me to understand what the Lord Jesus Christ would have me do. I am grateful for those who have sacrificed so much that we might have the word of God. I have prayed to God to help me to understand the truth and to follow the commandments. I believe that all truth can be encompassed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a member of High Council of my Stake. My responsibilities include helping to organize members and non-members to prepare for emergencies by storing necessary food and other supplies. I also help coordinate volunteers to work at a peanut butter cannery which helps to supply our local Houston Food bank. I also regularly speak at Sacrament (congregational worship services) meetings to encourage members and non-members to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I served a two year mission in Kobe Japan.
