Hi I'm Luis

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Havana, Cuba. I came to the United States in 1962. I love this country and the Church.

About Me

I am a husband, a father and a grandfather. I have six children and twenty nine grandchildren. I love to spend time with my family. I enjoy fixings things and traveling. I also enjoy helping others with whatever needs they might have. Service projects are one of my favorite things.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was nineteen years old, I was looking for answers to life's questions: where did I come from, why was I here, and where was I going after death? As I searched and prayed for the answer to these questions, I opened the door of my home one day to find a couple of Mormon missionaries offering to share a message about the Savior and his restored church. I let them in and that decision changed my life. They taught me about an ancient record contained in The Book of Mormon. They challenged me to read the book and pray to find out for myself if the book was true. I took the challenge and as I read, I came to find out it was true by the power of the Holy Ghost. The book contained the answers to my questions. I made a decision to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am grateful to the Lord that he sent those missionaries to my home. I have received so many blessings in my life. I know that my family and I are sealed for time and all eternity. This brings much joy and peace to know that we will be together forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of Jesus Christ's teachings. I strive to give of my time, talents and everything that the Lord has blessed me with to helping others. I have come to know that the Savior greatest joy came from giving of his life in the service of others. I want to live the same kind of life the Savior showed unto us. I serve in the church in a capacity where I am able to to do this. I receive many times more for the time I dedicate of my service in the church. I have come to love people because of learning of His gospel. I know that He lives and that He loves me. I am very grateful for having a testimony of the Savior. I know that our Heavenly Father wants all of His children to return to him and live Eternal Life.
