Hi I'm Landon

I am currently on an LDS mission. I want to be a doctor when I grow up. I love sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Before I began my mission on May 23, 2012, I attended college where I studied Biology/Pre-Medicine. The gospel has always been a huge part of my life. It was an even bigger part right before I started my mission while I attended college. I didn't have my family there to get me to church. I had to do it for myself. But it was worth every second. I love the gospel I am the first of six children. My family consists of my parents, me, my 4 sisters and my one brother. My family is the most important thing in my life. It is the place where I never have to run or hide, I can be me and no one will judge. I know that the family is ordained of God. There is no way that someone randomly decided that we should live in families. The family is the place where we can find the most happiness, we can feel the most safe, and we can learn most effectively. I am really into school and learning. I enjoy the sciences the most. I could sit in a chemistry class for hours just listening. As crazy as it sounds, chemistry is fun! It is so exciting to learn how the world works on an atomic level. I know God has a part to play in it. He is the world's greatest scientist! I also love sports of all kinds. My friends and I would play racquetball, wallyball, ultimate frisbee and soccer on a regular basis. I love to be active and just play. Moving around is a great way to relieve stress.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the effect it has on my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of happiness and joy. I love the gospel!! It has brought and continues to bring joy into my life. I was raised in the church, and for that I am forever grateful. The impact it has had on my life is unbelievable. It has changed my life and refined me to be the person I want to be and the person I know God wants me to be. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know it is! I have prayed about the church on multiple occasions and everytime it is the same. The feelings I get let me know that the church is true. The Book of Mormon is true. I have read it multiple times and everytime I learn more and more. When I pray after each time, my knowledge that the Book of Mormon is true is reconfirmed everytime. That book has directly brought me closer to our Heavenly Father. It is the word of God in book form so that the entire world can partake of its greatness. I have seen the church change peoples' lives for the better. I have seen some of my friends come closer to God through prayer and studying the Book of Mormon. They have become happier and overall better people. They enjoy life more thoroughly and get a better relationship with God. The gospel has a powerful effect on the hearts of people, some say a greater effect than the sword. The main thing is that the Church is true. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, who restored Christ's church on the Earth. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and will help anyone, in any situation, have a happier life and experience more joy. It can help with any problem that anyone may have; the answer to every question to life is in that book. All someone has to do is read it with a desire for their question to be answered and pray to God for help finding it. I gurantee that your question will be answered. It has happened to me multiple times in my life and helped me. I know it can help all that seek it out.

How I live my faith

I have served in many postions in my home ward (group that meets together at the same time for church on Sunday at a specific church building; for me it happened to be my neighborhood). I have been a leader in youth organizations throughout my life. Those leadership positions have helped me be a better leader in life and has shown me how to be a better person. The church callings (oppurtunity to serve in a postion to help other members of the church) that I have had in my life have done a gret job for preparing me for life. While I was in college, I had the wonderful oppurtunity to help lead the adult men. I helped organize activities, conducted meetings, taught lessons, and helped organize other duties of the men of the church. I have served in small postions in my life, but each one has helped me personally and has given me the oppurtunity to help others. On May 23, 2012, this all changed though. I became a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I still have the oppurtunity to help others and especially be helped myself, but my life has changed. I now get up early and study the gospel all day instead of attend college or work on the farm. I teach people everyday how the gospel of Jesus Christ can help them in their lives. It is so amazing and brings so much joy into my life. I have NEVER been so happy in my life.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Landon
"The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Christ" is just that! It is another testament of Jesus Christ! It talks about Jesus Christ! It tells why He is our Savior, why He died for us and who He is. It is another way to learn more about our Savior and build our faith in Him. It is focused on Jesus Christ. He is the main message it contains. The Book of Mormon is also the way to come to know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. It is the evidence that the church that Jesus Christ established when on the Earth was restored. Joseph Smith translated the plates he found (shown to him by an angel) by the literal power of God. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith is and was a prophet.
