Hi I'm Santa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old. And I am serving a mission in Salt Lake City Utah. I am the only LDS in my family. I have two younger sisters. I like reading, playing volleyball and different board games. I love my friends and spending time with them. My favorite treat is ice-cream. I hope to learn Portuguese some day. Because I think that this language is a beautiful mix of Spanish and French.

Why I am a Mormon

In September of 2008 my friend and I were trying to participate in this big service project in Latvia. So we tried to find one of the groups who was doing service nearby a lake. This group was really welcoming. So we started working with them. That is where I met my first missionary in my life. I had no clue who the "mormons", Latter day saints or missionaries are. She invited me to church. And I came. Soon she invited me to meet with missionaries. I really liked them so I did. In my first lesson the missionary who invited me was not there. She went to Lithuania for few days. And when other sisters started teaching me about the Book of Mormon it freaked me out. When they called me I said that I don't want to meet with them again, because I don't believe in things they believe in. Soon the missionary I talked to by lake came back. She called me. I felt her genuine love for me and couldn't say no, when she invited me to meet with her. I always had a good feeling when I was with them and I decided to let them to teach me. But I also decided that I will never join to this church. Missionaries didn't try to convince me that I should join to church. Instead they invited me to ask God in prayer if the Book of Mormon is true. I knew that God would tell me the truth. I prayed many times until I got my answer. I have never got such strong answer from God. I knew in my heart and in my mind that the Book of Mormon is true. And I also knew that if the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith was a prophet and this church truly is the church of Jesus Christ. I had no doubts that I am in the right place.

How I live my faith

I love the church. I have really learned a lot since I became a member. I had the opportunity to teach the little children about the Christ, to teach and strengthen women in my branch and share my testimony with others as a missionary. I had the chance to serve people more than ever before through helping the poor, lonely and sad.
