Hi I'm Steve Lombard

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Indianapolis in 1942, raised in Salem, Illinois and now am retired in Laie, Hawaii with my family.

About Me

I'm retired Air Force, retired prison counselor and happy husband, father, grandfather of 16 (so far)and great-grandfather of two boys. I'm very involved with genealogy, the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and the LDS Church where I teach a Gospel Essentials class.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was baptized in Peru, Indiana in 1971, ordained an Elder in Bangkok, Thailand in 1972, and ordained a High Priest in Laie, Hawaii in 1997. I'm a Mormon because it fulfills every desire I ever had. It didn't change anything I learned growing up in the Methodist Church...in expanded and completed what I learned. I'm a Mormon because I believe in Family and the Church teaches I can be with my family forever, not just until death do us part. I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. I know in my heart this Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. What more can I say?

How I live my faith

I am presently called to teach a Gospel Essentials class in Sunday School. I have had other callings (Executive Secretary, Membership Clerk, Priest's Quorum Teacher) and will accept anything I am asked to do. I know that the Lord Jesus Christ leads His Church and what He asks me to do, I will do without question. I very much enjoy my present calling as Gospel Essentials teacher. I enjoy my adult class who actually teaches me more that I teach them.
