Hi I'm Marisa

I'm a professional hairdresser. I'm a soon-to-be missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of seven kids in my family. I am an Aunt to many nieces and nephews. My mother homeschooled me and my siblings until we reached ninth grade, which we were then enrolled into public school for our high school career. I enjoyed many classes, Math being my favorite subject. During my senior year, I began my journey towards becoming a professional hairdresser. I attended a trade school where I obtained 1600 hours of education in the Cosmetology program, and became a licensed cosmetologist at the age of 20. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends so much. It doesn't matter what we are doing, as long as we are together we have so much fun. Aside from doing hair, I also love to bake and decorate cupcakes. My ultimate dream and goal in life is to get married and become a mother. Some other dreams I have are traveling the world, visiting as many LDS temples as I possibly can (maybe ALL of them before I die), opening a bakery, and serving a couple's mission in the future with the man I marry. I grew up in the church, which means so much to me because I do not know if I would have been strong enough to find the gospel on my own if I hadn't been raised with it. I was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 8-years-old. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in the next few months. I have been called to serve in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission. I'm a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I love it! It has blessed me so much in my life. People always tell me, "Well, you were born in the church so you have no choice but to be a Mormon though, huh?" and that is no where near true. I have the agency to choose what to follow and how to live. I have chosen to continue to follow this gospel because I know that it is true. I have felt it. I can't imagine life without this gospel. I have had so many experiences that have made my testimony of this gospel grow immensely. Whether it was a time at girl's camp, at testimony meetings, at Especially For Youth (a church youth program), or just a time I got to share my testimony with a friend, I have felt my testimony and my love for this gospel, my Heavenly Father, and my Savior, Jesus Christ, grow and guide me through life.

How I live my faith

I am a proud Daughter of God. I live my life righteously, obeying His commandments and following His gospel. I try to live my life as though My Savior is right by my side. We all make mistakes, but every mistake can be fixed, every wound healed, every sin forgiven. We just need to take advantage of the wonderful gift we have of the atonement. Christ died for me, I have chosen to LIVE for Him.
