Hi I'm Brooke

California is my home. Germany has my heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Brooke! I am starting the next (last) two years of my undergrad. I am the only member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in my family. I love to travel, go on adventures, and am an avid reader. I love healthy foods (fruits and veggies) and a good experiment in the kitchen. I am multilingual and love throwing pottery (on wheels) although am still developing the talent.

Why I am a Mormon

My baptism was July 11th, and was the best personal decision made in my life. At the time I was nineteen and going through a little bit of a rough patch. A family member was dying of cancer and various other relationships were a little rocky. I was having a hard time, and a good friend invited me to go to the Institute, a safe haven for college kids. So, I went, learned more, and got some reading material. When I was reading the Book of Mormon, it made sense to me. The words and pages spoke directly to me. Reading and going to church wasn't the only thing I needed though. Prayer played a very important role in my conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Having barely prayed in my life, I came to build a relationship with a Father in Heaven. I came to see that He knows me very well and He shows me that in many different ways. So, when I was ready and really wanted to know the truth, God revealed it to me, through the Holy Ghost. I knew by that point that if and once I had that knowledge of truth, that I would choose this for the rest of my life and that I wasn't going to change.

How I live my faith

So far I have participated in church by being the local librarian and helping in missionary efforts. I also served a full-time mission in Germany for a year and a half.
