Hi I'm Nate

I was born and raised in Utah and served a mission in Venezuela. I love reading Bible and Book of Mormon stories.

About Me

I am the father of two beautiful girls and married to my sweetheart. My wife and I were married in 2004 in the Logan Temple. We love to vacation and are SCUBA certified. I earned my Eagle Scout award as a teenager and recognize the importance of the scouting program in helping to mold boys into men who become great assets to their families and community. I love to play Chess. I love to make fruit smoothies in the evening to relax.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and am very grateful to have had the gospel be such an integral part of my life from my childhood. I remember reading the Book of Mormon when I was eight years old and feeling a warm feeling come over me. I didn't understand everything I read at that time because of the different format and strange words but I know now that conversion comes by what you feel and not by what you know. I love the simple truths of the gospel. I am an analytical person and the gospel not only makes sense to my mind but also speaks to my heart. I love the gospel and the church.

How I live my faith

I start each day reading the scriptures and the national news --That way I can see what both sides are up to. I strive to go to the temple often and am excited for a new temple in Brigham City, Utah which is a city where I lived a few years ago. I've seen that happiness and joy comes from living the gospel principles and poor choices bring misery and pain. I know that families can be together forever. This life can be hard but the gospel helps us find joy in the journey. I am happy when I live the gospel.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Nate
We need the Savior to overcome physical death and spiritual death. Because of Christ we will all be resurrected (overcoming physical death) and because of the Atonement we can all repent of our past mistakes and live with God (overcoming spriritual death). No impure thing can dwell in the presence of God so we need the Savior to repent and purify ourselves so we can return to live with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Nate
Everything we have comes from the Lord. The Lord has asked that 10 percent be given to the church. With God, everything is possible. I doubt that the Lord "needs" my money but I personally need to learn how to sacrifice and to put the Lord first--Tithing helps me do this. Show more Show less
