Hi I'm Alexa

I'm a college student. I'm a mom-in-training. I'm an artist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from highschool in small-town Wisconsin, and I'm getting ready to head to school in the fall. Right now I work in a cheese factory to help pay for college. I'm going to be an art major. I love everything about art, and hope that someday I can actually have my own Graphic Design business. In highschool I was a Cheerleader, and I loved every minute of it. Reading is my favorite hobby, and occasionally I like to color in coloring books. I also really love acting/performing. I was even Snow White in our school play! I come from a family of six kids, and we are all very different, but we're still the best of friends. My family is one of the most important parts of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was little, I didn't like going to church, but I did it anyway because that's what we did. We drove half an hour in a packed mini-van to sit at church for three hours and then drive back home. That's a long time for anyone, much less a 5 or 6 year-old. I kept going as I got a little older, because it felt wierd not to, but I didn't really get anything out of it. And then, when I was about 12, we switched wards. It was hard, and I didn't really know anyone, but I think that helped me. It helped me to talk less with friends, and listen more to the lessons that my teachers were giving. When I listened to them, I learned things I never knew before, and a little part of me became hungry for more. I did make some wonderful friends, but I continued to listen to the guidance and teachings of my leaders. Little by little, I grew to love the gospel. I love being able to know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. I love knowing that Jesus Christ is our older brother and that he loves us too. I love having a Prophet on the earth today, who can receive revelation directly from God. I know that all of this is true, and I am so grateful for it. I am glad that I kept going to church when I was younger and was able to learn this and know for myself.

How I live my faith

I am one of a few members in my town. Just living here makes me an example to others. The way I talk, dress, act, what I watch on TV, and the kind of music I like are all ways I live my faith. I helped my younger brother with his Boy Scouts Eagle Project, and I help other young men in our church as well.
