Hi I'm Austin

I grew up in the south. I'm a husband, soon to be father and an avid sports fan... oh and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently live in Alabama and really love the southern hospitality that is present here. I have lived in many different places and have enjoyed being able to see and experience the different cultures/features of each place that I have lived, but have to say that I prefer the south! I have been married for over 3 years and we are expecting our first child in December. There is no greater blessing than being a family. I grew up in a family of 5 and it seems like I also grew up on a baseball field. I have enjoyed playing sports my whole life (baseball, basketball, football and ice hockey). I was blessed to play college baseball and enjoyed all the many friendships that were gained through those teammates. I also enjoy scouting, skeet shooting, scuba diving and riding motorcycles. I also had the life changing experience to live in Guatemala for 2 years serving the people there and learning more about the Latin American people and their culture and with that experience being able to learn the Spanish language, which I am able to use today working for a medical software company.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God on the earth today. I feel that a loving Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and has provided us with the means to accomplish that goal. He provided a Savior, Jesus Christ, to atone and pay for our sins so that we could be made perfect through him. I believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer and the only way, by which, we may return to our Heavenly Father's presence. I believe that our Heavenly Father's plan allows us to return to him, not only as individuals, but a families and that families can be together forever. There is no blessing better, than the promise that if we follow our Heavenly Father's plan and keep his commandments, that we can live eternally with our family members. What better purpose can there be on this earth?

How I live my faith

Living my faith is the most important part. As we learn in the scriptures, "faith without works is dead", meaning that we must do more than say we believe, but we must act. Those actions are how we show our faith and how we share that faith with others. Although I am far from perfect, I constantly try to share that light and knowledge with others in the community and in the church. I am blessed to have the responsibility to care for many families in our congregation and to make sure that they are being taken care of both spiritually as well as temporally and I have been able to see changes in many people's lives as they have come unto Christ. We all must continue to grow to reach our full potential, and our first step is by showing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
