Hi I'm Diane

Yes, I am a Mormon! One of my greatest joys is to give service.

About Me

I am a wife, mother of four children (two boys and two girls) and we have twelve precious grandchildren. We are currently living in Houston, Texas, and we love being a part of the Texas culture, and the generous nature of our Texas neighbors. We have had amazing opportunities to serve while living here and only regret that we are not living closer to all of our children and grandchildren. I was born and raised in California. As a family we have lived in California, Utah, Virginia, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Texas. My interests include my family, service to others, gardening, reading, cooking, family history and temple work. My love for my Savior, Jesus Christ, is my motivation and guide for my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I searched out and found that my relationship with my Savior is where I find my deepest joy and abiding peace. With that joy and peace I am able to be a better wife, mother, grandmother, and neighbor. In my home growing up, my mother was a Mormon, and my father was not. My mother and my father were amazing examples of people who served others. There were no clear lines for me to follow, I didn't grow up always having a testimony. When I left home for college it because clear to me that I needed to define who I was and what I wanted to be. I needed to decide for myself if the Gospel of Jesus Christ would be the center of my life. After much study and prayer I gained my own testimony of Christ's divinity and I had a desire to embrace The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is because of my own sure knowledge of modern day revelation; that a living prophet leads and guides us today; the importance of making and keeping sacred covenants; and the Plan of Salvation that I have chosen to lead a Christ centered life, and be a practicing Mormon.

How I live my faith

Most important to me is that I live the Gospel of Jesus Christ everyday, not just on Sunday. Our congregations are created in geographical areas so that each member has the opportunity to serve those around them. We have a lay ministry, and with that comes great responsibility to reach out, minister, and provide comfort. I have the opportunity to be a visiting teacher. In this capacity I visit with sisters assigned to me, and strive to bring the Gospel into their homes as we visit and serve, and create friendships. My family and home is blessed as I reach out to others and love them and serve them. I also serve as the Stake Relief Society President of the Houston Texas South Stake. The Relief Society is the world's largest women's organization in the world with over 6 million members in 170 countries. Our motto is "Charity Never Faileth" and is taken from 1 Corinthians 13.8. Our purposes are to save souls and care for the poor. "Charity is born of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and is an effect of His Atonement, working in the hearts of our women. Our acts of charity are guided by His example – and come out of gratitude for His infinite gift of mercy." President Henry B. Eyring My husband and I are also ordinance workers in the Houston Temple. It is a privilege to provide service to those who come to "The House of the Lord" to make and keep covenants with our Savior. It is humbling to have this responsibility, and we find great joy in our service. Making and keeping sacred covenants with our Savior is the essence of being a disciple and understanding our divine destiny. Our mortal existence is but a small portion of our purpose - it is our probationary period to be tried and tested and develop our talents and testimony. How we live now, and what we do on earth, provides the foundation for our lives for all eternity.
