Hi I'm Jerry

I'm a father, a grandfather, a purchasing agent, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 3 and a grandfather of 9. I enjoy my family and especially enjoying doing things with them. We like to geocache together ,explore caves, and have mini reunions where we go on vaction together. I love to find new and wonderous things and places to explore and investigate , and what makes this so meaninful is sharing the experience with my family all around me. Living in the mountain west is a virtual playground of wonderous places to see and share with each other.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always felt that the inner me has existed and that I was part of something eternal and ongoing. Being raised in the church I was taught about life before our time here on earth and the life that we could expect to have after we died. These teachings always felt so normal and familiar, like a soft glove on my hand. These feelings fit my inner spirit. As I grew older and learned to pray on my own I found that I would get positive and real answeres to my prayers . I always felt if God could talk to prophest then why couldn't he answer my prayers? Through those prayers I gained a testimony of Jesus Christ, and I developed a love for him. Through prayer I came to know that my feelings that I always had were true and that I was part of an eternal plan . With the teachings of the scriptures and prophets I gained a clearer picture of that plan and of the role Jesus Christ played in preparing the way for all of us to return to our Father in Heaven. I look at my family and inexpressable joy fills my heart to know that they are part of me and I am part of them and that we will continue to be a part of each other for ever. The coolest part of family is that as I look back further and further I realize how totally related we are to each other and the term Father in Heaven takes on so much more meaning to know that we are all part of this family.

How I live my faith

Each day I try to think of our Savior Jesus Christ and of our Father in Heaven's Plan of Happiness. In those thoughts I try to do something that brings me closer to the Savior and keeps my mind on returning to our Father in Heaven. In my adult life I always been involved in the youth. As Scout Master for a number of years it has been such a joy to teach young men how to do for themselves and at the same time never to forget the Savior and and His role in our life. Now later in life as I lead some of the weekly dicussions with older members of our congregation, I find great joy in learning that we always have work to do. I love learning that little bit of knowlege that I may have heard before, but now it resonates so loudly that I wonder how could i have missed it. I love little acts of service. Picking peaches on the church farm, even though it is hot and dirty, but knowing that someone will eat and enjoy the service. I like take my turn to clean the church with my grandchildren and teach them respect for the Lord's house. I love going to church even when I feel the aches and pains of life, because I will come away uplifted.
