Hi I'm Aaron

I enjoy playing golf, skiing, and having fun. Sometimes I work too hard. But I'm dedicated. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always enjoyed traveling the world and hanging out on beaches. I have really gotten into physical activity and working out again in the last few years after realizing I was starting to pack on the pounds in my late 20's. I feel like I'm in my best shape ever as I just hit 31 years old. I would like to eventually pick golf back up and become a club pro or assistant pro and have that be my full time job. I enjoy skiing and would like to get my son into snowboarding and golf as he will soon turn 3 years old. I enjoy going to the movies. I know that I need to get more involved in church activities because they are fun and I enjoy being around people with good morals. I know that eventually I need to change the way I do my job right now which is selling alarm systems door to door. We work hard during the summer and take a lot of time off the rest of the year. But its hard on a family during the summer and so I have to figure out how to make it more of a year round gig and not work as hard. Then I will be able to get more involved in my church ward too.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up attending a Presbyterian Church in a 98 percent mormon community in Idaho. I enjoyed going to my church but I really saw how strong my friends mormon families were. The kids all supported each other and it seemed as if they had something that we didn't. Don't get me wrong my mom did a great job raising us with standards and values. But I felt as if the family bond was just a little stronger in some of my friends families. So eventually I was dating a girl who had me meet with the missionaries. I was 18 and off in Utah at the time going to college. I will be honest, I was a pretty easy baptism for the missionaries at the time because having a girlfriend pushed me that way, and I saw lot of good in the mormon beliefs. I still needed a stronger testimony even after being baptized though. Thats why I am super thankful that after a year and a half I was called on a mormon mission to Russia. The next 2 years of my life were tough, learning the Russian language and all about the gospel, but I saw many many miracles and strengthened my own testimony of Jesus Christ. Without my membership in the LDS Church I don't know where I would be. But because of my membership in the church, I have goals and ways to accomplish them. I have a burning desire to help my family return to live with our Heavenly Father after this life, and I know I need to do better at sharing this opportunity with others.

How I live my faith

Right now I have been going to church most weeks. I know that I need to do a better job at fellowshipping other families in the church through my hometeaching calling. I keep my body clean of harmful addictive substances like alcohol and drugs. I also try to eat good foods and I definitely could do a better job of getting more sleep. I pray to Heavenly Father and try to keep my relationship with him on a close level, but I know I could always do better at that. I need to do a better job at reading my scriptures from the Bible and Book of Mormon everyday with my family. I teach my son some of the stories from the scriptures by showing him animated videos from the Living Scriptures series. I also love teaching my son how to pray at night and hearing him as a 2 year old Thank Heavenly Father for his parents and asking Heavenly Father to help him be a good boy. I feel like I need to be more involved in a ward by having a calling again. We have moved so many times over the last few years that it has been difficult to hold a calling for very long and so this is another reason why my job needs to change to get us more involved. I also love reading talks given by our current prophet and apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I read these talks their words ring true to me and I feel like I want to be a better person.
