Hi I'm Clinton

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Sandy, Utah, but we have lived in Iowa for the past 20 years and love it here.

About Me

I enjoy working with youth and adults and children in various church service positions. I have led a couple of different congregations meeting in Lenox, Iowa and Spencer Iowa. I particularly enjoy visiting members and their families in their homes to strengthen them. I have enjoyed assisting in many ways in all the areas that we have lived in Utah, California and Iowa. I used to be a computer engineer, but have since switched to Physical Therapy as my profession. I enjoy working in a small hospital where I am in charge of doing anything that comes along. I am the father of five children and two grandchildren (and counting). I enjoy spending time with my wife and family as opportunites come up. we maintain quite close contact with a foster daughter and her family and I am pleased when her children also call me grandpa. Caring for a home and yard are good ways for me to keep busy. I am also a bit of a thrift shop affecionado and enjoy movies. I like basketball, but don't get to play as much as I would like to. Ihave served as a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts Of America in California and Iowa. I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as a Youth and my Boys are both Eagle Scouts. Scouting has been an important part of our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church by my parents and grandparents, but I came to believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church through a spiritual witness from God. I distinctly remember not wanting to attend church at age eleven, but by age twelve I was given the opportunity to serve and to help others and the importance of me doing my best for God and his church weighed into my heart and soul in a way that I can not easily describe. I took the invitation to read the Book of Mormon at age 15 and felt the truth of this sacred volume of scripture each time I have read it then and since. I have prayed to God to know the truth of what I was taught and have felt my prayers answered. I have felt miraculous direction in my life as I have prayed to relsolve difficult situations that I felt at a loss to resolve. I saw God's mercy and divine guidance many times and feel to rejoice that He has guided me and changed my heart for the better. I have a strong belief in the power of Christ's atonement and sacrifice in our behalf to overcome sin. I have overcome sin in the past and I try to make overcoming sin and the world an ongoing lifelong process. I believe in the quote from the hymn, "Lord I Would Follow Thee". I have seen great blessings come to my life as I have dedicated time and resources to God and His purposes. I know that I will always be in debt to God and His son. I want other people to know and feel as I know and feel so that they too can receive God's blessings in their life. I want them to have a strong desire to read and study and pray so that they can know for themselves rather than relying on someone else.

How I live my faith

I strive to do God's will at all times in my life.
