Hi I'm Audrey Smith

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my second semester at BYU-Idaho studying elementary education. In my family, I have three siblings; Tyler, Derek, and Danielle. My family loves spending time together! We love going to the beach, having picnics together, and playing board games! We enjoy taking road trips together and going to museums. During each road trip that we take, my family always sets aside time to go to the temple. We have found that our family feels closer together when we make time to go to the house of the Lord. I feel incredibly blessed to have grown up as a member of the church. I have seen this bless each and every one of the members of my family as we have applied the gospel of Jesus Christ in challenging situations.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that being a member of this church has brought an immense amount of joy and peace in my life. When I am faced with doubts, fears, and stress, I have been able to turn to my Heavenly Father in prayer. It is through prayer and studying the scriptures that I have experienced peace to every problem or worry I have been faced with, no matter how big or small. There was one particular time when I was going through a hard trial and was feeling discouraged. I wasn't sure that I was strong enough to make it through. That night, I was reading in the Book of Mormon and came across a verse in Alma chapter 38 verse 5 that says, "And now my son, Shiblon, I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day." I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that if I trusted in God, I would be able to make it through any obstacle. Now, just a few years later, I am able to see that my Heavenly Father was with me all along, carrying me when I couldn't go on by myself. I know that it is through our trials that God is able to make us into who He wants us to be. I am a better person because of the trials that I have gone through. I have a testimony Of my Savior Jesus Christ, who died not only to redeem us from our sins, but to help us though our struggles, our trials, our depression, our feelings of sadness and inadequacy, and our pain. He has felt everything that we have felt, and because of this, he knows exactly what each of us need to be relieved from whatever may be hurting us. I know that it is through the Atonement of Christ that we have the opportunity to become more like Christ every day. I have felt the overwhelming love that Heavenly Father has for his children and I know that if we pray and put our trust in Him, everything will be okay.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving. In the church, I have had the incredible opportunity to be a Sunday school teacher for a class of 4 year-olds. As I have taught these children about Jesus Christ and prepared lessons, I have learned so much as the teacher! It is through service that I have come to know my Savior on a personal level. I also live my faith by accepting my call to serve as a full-time missionary for 18 months in the Texas Houston East mission. As a volunteer representative of the church, I will have the opportunity to proselyte, participate in church and community service and humanitarian aid. I am beyond excited to serve share the message of hope, peace, and joy with the people of Houston and to serve!

Are Mormons Christians?

Audrey Smith
Yes! We, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worship in the name of Jesus Christ and believe that he is our Savior. We recognize him as our Redeemer, as the only one who can save us from our sins and our shortcomings. Jesus Christ performed the Atonement of Christ and made it possible for each and everyone of us to be forgiven, and to improve ourselves. Following Christ is the only way that we are able to make it back to our Heavenly Father. Both the Bible and The Book of Mormon are witnesses of His life and His ministry, and His Atonement. I am personally indebted to my Savior for the price he paid for me on the cross. To show my immense gratitude, I have promised to stand as a witness of him, to keep his commandments, and to always remember him. Show more Show less
