Hi I'm Jake Worthington

I am a High School student from Orem, Utah. I run my own lawn mowing business. I love doing anything outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jake. I am a senior in High School, and I love doing anything outdoors. I've run my own lawn mowing business since I was eight years old, and I absolutely love working for the nice people in my neighborhood while enjoying the beautiful summer weather. Fishing is one of my favorite things to do when I'm not working, and I like to share my love of the sport with new young fishermen. I like fishing and camping with my friends as well. I love tackling new challenges, from taking hard AP classes, to learning how to fix my car or lawn mowers, to learning how to free-mount my giraffe unicycle. I love learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon household, and have had a good Christian upbringing my whole life. My parents always taught me the value of hard work, honesty, and charity. I was always taught to try to be like Jesus by being kind to others and helping them whenever I could, and by following His commandments for us. Over the years, I've begun to learn just how important it is for me to follow God's commandments. I've seen how disobedience to the commandments has caused me disappointment and pain, but I have also seen how obedience has blessed my life and brought me joy and peace that can never be had otherwise. Having experienced this great contrast in my own life, I want to show others how happy they can be if they do what God would have them do.

How I live my faith

I serve my community as an Eagle Scout along with my crew. We do numerous service projects every year, but my favorite is the annual neighborhood cleanup. We help our neighbors by hauling off any garbage and disposing of it properly. I also serve as a secretary in my young men's group. My dad and I visit two families in my neighborhood every month to visit and to share a short spiritual message. I've gotten to know these families better and have been blessed by their influence.
