Hi I'm Marcus

I'm a drummer, skier, and surgeon. I love my wife and my three crazy kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of three children, two girls and one boy. I am a foot and ankle surgeon/physician. I did my undergrad at Brigham Young University and received my BS in business management at the Marriott School of Business. I was in the never-be-known band Lyra's Landscape as the drummer while in college, we obviously never made it big but rocked out and had some fun. I then completed medical school in Chicago at RFUMS. My surgical residency was also in Chicago. I also enjoy sports, movies, and anything outdoors. Most of my life when not working is spent with my awesome wife and wonderful children.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I have come to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He has a plan of happiness that involves me, my family, and eternal progression. I know that because of His sacrifice that I am able to give to Him my burdens and hardships and that He will help me. I know that through his sacrifice and my personal efforts I can return to live with Him again some day. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have of His gospel. This knowledge helps me to become a better husband, father, contributing member of my community, and yes even a physician. Having this knowledge did not come easy, I had many many doubts and concerns but I after much studying, analyzing, and praying I can say that I know that Christ lives and that He truly has a plan for you and for me.

How I live my faith

Although I am not perfect (far from it) I try to live my life as my savior Jesus Christ did - with compassion, understanding, and love. I had the wonderful opportunity of participating in missionary work for two years in El Salvador where I was completely immersed in their culture. I feel this experience truly changed my life and by serving, loving, and helping others I was able to also find myself and come to a better understanding of who I was and who I wanted to become. I was involved in Boy Scouts of America as a youth and was able to receive my Eagle Scout. I am still involved in scouting now in a leadership role. I also enjoy fellow-shipping other members of my faith through a program we call "Home-Teaching" on a monthly basis.
