Hi I'm Michelle

I am a college student. I love playing with little children and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In high school I had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of different activities. I l played sports, was a part of several service clubs, and got involved in theater. I am currently going to college with a major in Human Development. Everyone told me that college would be hard, well they were right. It is hard juggling a job, school work, social activities, and sleep in a 24 hour day. But the struggle is good, or so I try to tell myself, it has truly helped me figure out what is important in my life and what isn't. A hard part is being away from my family. I have 6 brothers and 3 sisters and I love hanging out with them and having tons of fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but I still had to become converted. My parents and teachers taught me the basic principles of Christ's gospel, but it has been up to me to become converted. I have always known the principles and teachings I had been taught were good, but I needed to know for myself. So with prayer and scripture study I gained a testimony and I am still working on strengthening that testimony every day. At times I feel depressed and alone, but then I realize that I have a loving Heavenly Father who is perfectly aware of what I am going through and is just waiting with open arms for me to turn to him. Sometimes I am given a nudge in that direction, but I know that God is aware of me personally, something that I am constantly taught by the prophets and scriptures. I love being in a church where we uphold all that is good and wholesome. I know where I am going, and how to get there. I am truly happy when I uphold the standards set by the church. I'm a Mormon because it is what brings true happiness into my life and allows me to share that light to others.

How I live my faith

Currently I am assigned to be the visiting teacher coordinator. My responsibility is to look out for the ladies in my dorm by assigning two girls to visit with them and essentially become friends. Visiting Teaching is exactly that, as we visit with others it is in the mindset to become friends and strengthen each other. Living my faith is a constant work, each day I strive to study the scriptures and apply them in my life. It takes constant work to remember God each day. It is easy to be overwhelmed with school work or get distracted by media, and quickly the day is done. But I do know that when I keep God as my priority things seem to work out and I am able to accomplish many more things than I might have.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Michelle
Family is essential to God's plan for us. It is in a family that we are able to grow spiritually and be strengthened in all other realms of our lives. If a family situation is non existent, it only takes one person to start a new tradition of family. Show more Show less
