Hi I'm Rachael!

I love to sing, dance, run, and...basically anything that requires the connection of both my heart and mind! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi! I'm Rachael! I absolutely LOVE to run...weird, right? I just love the thrill of the wind in my face and the determination to never quit. I guess you could also say that I am a HUGE music fan. I love listening to music, singing/playing songs on the piano, and dancing to music. I am a daughter of two incredible parents who show their love for me through service, and I am so grateful to have them in my life. I am also the middle child of a family of 7, and I know that God blesses us in this life by giving us families. Hmmm, what else... I love making people laugh, and just trying to be as crazy as can be! I hope to become a high school teacher some day because I absolutely love the rewards of education. I am a HUGE sweet tooth, and am currently trying to monitor my sweet intake to better care for my health (let's just say it's not working out too well). I sort of have an obsession with cookies, so I try not to use that word too often in my daily vocabulary... Anyway, I am just loving my life right now because I have the pleasure of being a part of the Mormon faith, and will soon share the joy that faith brings me with the wonderful people of Brazil as I serve an LDS mission for the next 18 months. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed me immensely. I will forever be grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ: for all of the sacrifices He has made for me to be able to repent of my sins and learn from my mistakes and hardships in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have the wanting desire to improve my life each and every day to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love the fact that I can pray to my Heavenly Father at any time in my life, and He will answer me. I have studied the Book of Mormon, earnestly prayed about it, and received the answer several times from my Heavenly Father (in numerous ways) that it is true, and that it is the keystone of the Church of Jesus Christ written for our day. I know that it goes hand-in-hand with the Bible, and I know that it represents God's love for each of His children. Both books of scripture truly testify of Jesus Christ in these latter-days. I know that from the scriptures we can learn that God loves His children so much that He calls prophets to cry repentance unto us and to direct us to Him. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet called of God to restore Jesus Christ's church on the Earth today. It is through his humility and obedience that he was able to translate the Book of Mormon by the power of God. I also know that our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, selflessly leads and guides this Church today out of love--Heavenly Father's love--for each of us. He is the mouthpiece of the Lord. I know that Jesus Christ lives today, and I love the fact that my religion focuses more on His resurrection and life than on His death. I have seen miracles and tender mercies in my life, and I know that they come from our All-knowing Heavenly Father and His loving Son, Jesus Christ. I know that my Redeemer lives. He loves each and every one of us, and wants us to be like Him. I know that it is through His great sacrifice in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross that we are able to repent of all of our mistakes, and that we will one day be able to return to our Heavenly Father. I love this Gospel. It makes me so happy just thinking about it, and I love sharing it with others! It is the one thing in my life that will never change. And that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by seeking truth. I attend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints every Sunday, and have the opportunity to learn from the Spirit while worshipping there. Living my faith isn't just a weekly commitment, however; I love to read my scriptures and pray daily as a way of regularly gaining knowledge that I need to continually understand my purpose in this life, and how I can become more like Jesus Christ. I put my faith into action each day by serving others, and trying to be like Christ in every thought, word, and deed. Ultimately, however, I live my faith by sharing this gospel with others because I love it so much, and I know that they will too!
