Hi I'm Cara

I'm a stay-at-home mother of three. I grew up in West Virginia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college graduate who worked for many years as a Medical Technologist in a hospital laboratory. I now am married, have three children, and have chosen to be a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy gardening, reading, and doing genealogy.

Why I am a Mormon

There's nothing else like this church. It's very much worth investigating. It explains so much and brings meaning to everything that we go through here on the earth. I was raised in this church but still had to decide for myself during my teenage years if it was really what it claimed to be. It had to be either the craziest story you'd ever been asked to believe, or else it really was all true. If it was true, I had to be a part of it, raise my family in it and support it. I did find out that it really is true-the Book of Mormon really is what it says it is, Joseph Smith really was a prophet like all the others were before him like Noah, Moses, or Peter. I found out by prayer and by reading the Book of Mormon. It really helped to have that grounding during my teen years. I was able to make wise choices and avoid a lot of troubles. The guidelines that the church has are a blessing. In case you have a scientific background, I want you to know that I have found no conflicts between being a member of this church and science. I love both. I believe science gives small glimpses into how our Heavenly Father made this wonderful place for us. He sent us down here to learn things that we could learn in no other way. He knew it would be hard. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer for our sins so that it would be possible for us to return to our Father if we repent and follow Him. It's for all of God's children-people of all faiths, ages, levels of education, and backgrounds. I wish you well in your search!

How I live my faith

I try my best every day to live as Jesus would have me live by trying to listen to the Spirit of the Lord. The church offers us many opportunities to serve others. Currently, I work with the girls age 12-18 in our congregation. We help them learn leadership, discuss gospel topics with them on Sundays, and enjoy weekly activities with them. It's very fulfilling work. I also volunteer in my community preparing medical supplies for third world countries.
