Hi I'm Katelyn Gallagher

I am a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of ten with only one boy! I have traveled to various countries around the world like Germany, Philippines, Mexico, Costa Rico, Bolivia, ect. and love learning about different cultures. I find people and their behaviors very fascinating and I love learning about it. I learned at a young age to not waste time and strive everyday to live up to that. I have played on rugby and volleyball teams, been in performing groups, done a lot of theater, just finished my first half marathon, and gone on many road trips! I like trying everything and just having fun. Life is to be enjoyed.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't feel that the church is true. I grew up in the church and it always was apart of the way I lived my life. I never really had a hard time believing what I grew up in was true or not. There have been times when I haven't always understood why we do what we do in the church. I remember as a little girl though thinking I just wanted to be good and follow my parents. The older I've gotten my faith has increased and i've come to understand that we don't need know all things but as we follow and are obedient we start to understand. We are all becoming and that takes time. God has given us commandments and guidelines to follow and if we follow them he will bless us and help us become the potential he wants us to. The more I realize this it humbles me and helps me realize how imperfect I am but yet what potential I have to become through Christ. I live the gospel because I know it changes me. It purifies me and allows me to hope that one day despite all my imperfections, as Christ did I too can overcome all things and live with my Heavenly Father again because of the Atonement.

How I live my faith

I have found that when i've come closest to Christ is when I have been able to take part in such sacred opportunities as serving in the church. I have been privileged to be a youth in my ward and see the influence of great leaders who taught me about charity, love, living with high standards, and realizing what a wonderful woman I could be. This shaped me to help those I associate with now. There are many activities that take place in the church but the purpose of them is what really matters. The purpose of feeling included, loved, uplifting others, associating yourself with good people, and really helping others come unto Christ. We never really know what I person needs are and how we can really help them. God always knows though and so for me I have learned the most effective tool to helping your ward is through prayer and sincerely caring about people. As we do this we are filled with more love and understanding for people and God grants us opportunities to serve one another.
