Hi I'm Cheryl

I am a wife/mom/homemaker/nana. I love to spend time with my family, cook, read, take pictures and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a daughter/wife/mom/nana.....I have four beautiful children and eight delightful grandchildren. I've always been a mostly stay at home mom taking in a few odd jobs here and there. I almost completed 2 years of college before the birth of my 4th child and then decided that I was where I needed to be and wanted to devote my full attention to my family. I spent many hours on the road transferring kids to and from ballgames and church activities that they participated in and to any other activity they were involved in. All of my children except for one are married and have little ones of their own now. They all live close and we enjoy getting together for Sunday dinners. I love to cook - ride horses - read a good book - (John Grisham) go on dates and travel with my hubby - hang out with the family and take pictures. I love to go to beach. My dream is to always be close enough to watch my grandchildren grow and be a positive influence in their lives. My favorite season is fall.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the church when I was 9 years old with my mom and dad. We were living in Va and the missionairies knocked on our door and taught us the spiritual lessons that they teach. I don't remember much of the details just of the way I felt the sweet spirit of my baptism. We moved a lot while I was growing up and having the church family that we had where ever we moved was a huge blessing and a constant security to me. I can remember as a little girl having a huge fear of God and thinking of him and this very angry being that I didn't want to be chastised by. I learned in the gospel of Jesus Christ that my Heavenly Father knows me and loves me and wants me to be happy. I began to understand that making the right choices is how I can be happy and have peace in my life. I have never felt as though I am limited in any way by my decision to follow the gospels teachings. I know that this is the way that my Savior would have me to live. I'm so thankful for the example that Jesus Christ set for me. I know that He suffered for me and He died for me. He showed us the way. He lived a wonderfully perfect life and taught us how to treat others. I know that He answers my prayers and still communicates to us through His servants that are living on this earth at this important time in history. It seems so strange to me that some of us can so easily believe in the miracles of the Bible but can't seem to accept the miracles of today such as a prophet here to help guide us. I love my Savior...I love this church that teaches the principles of love and eternal families. I can't imagine heaven without my family.

How I live my faith

My calling in the church is to organize and work with the women of our area. We support each other in our faith. We plan service projects for our community and work together also on family preparedness both temporal and spiritual.
