Hi I'm Michaela

I have lived in Utah all my life. I was baptized when I was eight. I love the gospel and am grateful for it.

About Me

I am 16 years old and enjoy spending time with friends and family. I love to read and I also enjoy writing. I enjoy learning new things, in school, and out. I love music and play the flute.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents took me to church when I was little and I was baptized when I was eight. As a child I never doubted the church was true because I was surrounded by not only my parents and siblings but grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who believed. As I entered my teenage years, I didn't precisely lose my testimony but due to some emotional trials I began to move away. I still went through the actions of a faithful member but my heart wasn't in it they way it had been before. I began to lose sight of my own worth to my Heavenly Father and Savior. As things became harder to deal with, the lessons and some of the faith I had grown up with returned. I realized what I needed to do. I began to pray and grow closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I began to understand that there was a purpose to what was happening. I was growing stronger and gaining my own testimony instead of relying on the testimonies of others. I will always be grateful for my testimony building experiences even though they were hard at the time. Some of those struggles still exist but they are easier to deal with as I have gained a testimony of my Father in Heaven and His plan. I have grown closer to Heavenly Father and my Savior and as a result I am a happier, stronger individual. I have a testimony that Christ's church has been restored and that the Book of Mormon is true and another testament of the Savior, Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that families can be together not only in this life but the next. I have a testimony that I am a daughter of God and I have worth. This has helped me feel better about myself despite other things that have caused the opposite. I haven't completely overcome everything. My life isn't suddenly perfect because I gained a testimony but it is better in so many ways. My problems haven't all gone away but as I find the strength to overcome current challenges and am prepared to meet the challenges that will follow with the help and comfort I receive from God.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in Sunday meetings and youth activities on Wednesdays. I enjoy attending Seminary before school and learning about the gospel with other high school students. I enjoy serving other people whether its babysitting for a few hours when my neighbors go to the temple or just doing something small to cheer someone up.
