Hi I'm N. Kent Preston

, I'm a retired business man, Naval Aviator and yes I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born on a small farm in NW Missouri. After graduating high school I joined the Navy where I spent the next 12 1/2 years. While in the Navy I served in the Cuban Missile Blockade, Viet Nam and then somewhere along the way I was baptized into the LDS Church by a Senior Missionary, I got married to my eternal companion and had two of the finest children in the world. After my discharge from the Navy I finished my education, became a business owner and then went into corporate management. I'm retired now and in the process of serving a full time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young sailor I pondered and prayed for inspiration and guidance as to the true gospel and what I should do about my spiritual life. My prayers were answered when I met a seniour missionary while stationed in Norfork, Virginia. That missionary introduced me to the restored gospel and a promise fulfilled. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true Church. I believe that through the proper ordinances of the gospel and by keeping the commandments of God, families can be together forever and live in company with our Lord and Saviour in the Celestial Kingdom. I believe and I testify that a living prophet, called of God stands at the head of this church. I bear this witness and ask that you ponder and pray about these things as a young sailor did many years ago and I do this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

My family and I try to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ as he has instructed. We are vary active in all church activities, responsibilities, and callings. My wife of 40 some years and I are now in the process of serving a full time mission in the vineyard of our Lord's choosing. I have in the past served as a branch president, prison chaplain, and numerous other callings at the stake, ward and branch level. I know that Christ is my saviour and I am eternally grateful for that and for that reason I will continue to serve him to the best of my ability.
