Hi I'm Meghan Elms

I grew up in the Central Coast of California. I am a florist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in near Morro Bay, California. I ran cross-country and pole-vaulted in track. I graduated from Brigham Young University in Landscape Management. I have a sister and 2 brothers. I married my husband in 2009, and now I work as a freelance florist and landscape design consultant. I enjoy being creative by attempting projects that have no how to's. I have run 7 half marathons for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I raised market sheep as a kid from when I was 9 years old to 18 years old. I want to own my floral shop and event center. My husband and I have recently moved to Indiana from Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a sophomore in college, a young man proposed marriage to me and I accepted. Things were to be planned and completed for a summer wedding, with all of our own money. He decided that he no longer wanted to marry me a week prior. In a time when I felt like a failure, a reject, left alone, and depressed; I was very much not alone. Even though I felt like I wanted to leave this world than stay, there was someone who was there for me at that time other than family and friends. I went to God in prayer for comfort and direction and He kept me together. Although I was raised in the church I had to find out for myself if the church of true. I know that I had a testimony of the church before this time I now have a even stronger testimony that Jesus is the son of God and was sent to earth for me and everyone to live and choose. I chose to overcome (with the help of Heavenly Father) and now I can say that as long as I follow the teachings of the gospel my testimony will exist. There is a modern day prophet to lead and guide us in this day, Joseph Smith was the man behind this last dispensation, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I raised over $15,000 while participating with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society marathons. I have been a mentor/counselor for a youth conference (EFY). I currently assist young women (ages 12-18) with development and service projects. I try to be helpful when I see a garbage can tipped over, someone on the freeway who may need some help, and sometimes when someone drops something, I make sure I let them know or get it for them.
