Hi I'm Heather

I'm a wife, a mother, and a homemaker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 7 years and have 3 amazing children. I am blessed to be able to stay home to raise our kids. Every day is an adventure. I love playing with them, teaching them, and creating a home that is warm and inviting. I enjoy cooking, reading, and digital scrap-booking. I also enjoy singing and writing songs about my faith. I went to college and graduated with a degree in social work. I worked until our second child came along. Even though the work was often difficult and emotionally taxing, I loved the idea of learning to help others help themselves. I enjoyed working with a wide variety of people and became a better person because of them.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember going to church for the first time when I was around six years old. Even though it was a new experience, everything felt familiar and right. There was a peace that came with learning about my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ provides answers about life that I believe every heart longs to know. As I grew, the Gospel became a guiding light that affected every major decision in my life. I know that by following gospel standards and doing my best to do the Lord's will, my life has been blessed. Not everyone in my family has chosen to believe what I believe, but this has never made me question my conviction because deep down I know I am happiest following Jesus Christ. Even when I go through hard times, I can look back and see the hand of the Lord in my life. I can see blessings and personal growth that come through challenges. When I think about choices I might have made without the gospel in my life, my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude for the peace and comfort that I enjoy by following the Lord. Through the power and witness of the Holy Ghost I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. It was restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. The Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God. President Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet on the earth today. I know that, through the blessings of the temple, families can be together even after death. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and he lived and died for me and was risen and lives on. I know that God has a plan for each and every one of us and he wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

I attend worship services on Sundays and I am a Sunday School teacher for the 5 and 6 year old children in our congregation. Along with other women in the church, I am able to find opportunities to participate in service projects, take meals to people in need, and share thoughts about faith and family while extending fellowship to others. I love being supported in living the gospel all week long and not just on Sundays. Living my faith is not just something I do, but is a way of life that helps me to become the best version of myself.
