Hi I'm Jake

I am from Arizona. I am tall. I love music, sports, and just living . And I'm totally a Mormon.

About Me

So I was born in Durham, North Carolina, but moved shortly after to Portland, Oregon. When I was like 3 years old I went on down to Gilbert, Arizona and grew up there. Through school I loved sports and I played Lacrosse all during Junior high and High school. I love playing golf with my family, but I'm really not that pro. I also love to get out and play Volleyball as well as any other sport! I am a big music fan. Not too much sets me apart from the rest, but I love to dirt bike (CRF 450) and snowboard and wakeboard, and all that fun stuff. After High school i went up and did a year of College before heading off on a mission to the Japan Fukuoka Mission. Learning Japanese is quite a handful, but I am loving it over here! Other hobbies include just the normal stuff like being with friends and family, playing some video games (SC2 and COD)and eating as much as I possibly can. I also enjoy working out as often as possible, though my picture might not show it...! Oh, almost forgot, I also love giving blood. I am 194cm tall, I have 3 brothers and a beautiful sister from Russia, My parents are rock-stars, and I be a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church and that it is true. Through much study and thinking and especially prayer, I have come to a knowledge of the truthfulness of this Church. I especially know that the Book of Mormon contains the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the only way that I can, my family can, and anyone in the world can return to live with God after we die. Having studied the Book of Mormon along with the Bible, I know that both testify of Christ, and his important saving role in each of our lives. I know that through Jesus Christ, specifically the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can all be forgiven of our sins, we will all be resurrected, and we all have the chance to receive Eternal life with our families and with God our Heavenly Father. Also, because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I know that I can be Comforted, protected and strengthened as I try my best to live my life. I know that God restored His priesthood to this earth, which is the power given to man in order for us to be saved. Knowing these things and other principles is the reason I am a Mormon. Knowing these things brings much peace to my soul, and a desire to share this wonderful joy with everyone! So ya, I guess that is kinda why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I grew up in an amazing and faithful family, so I learned early on that it is important to go to church every Sunday. As I got bigger, I figured out that just going to church was not enough. If I want to learn and grow and become better, I need to be involved and try to do the best I can. As a teenager I participated many youth activities that were not only fun, but helped me make friends, learn important principles such as leadership, diligence, and honesty, and strengthen my faith and relationship with God, my Heavenly Father. By living most of my life in a fairly large sized congregation, I had many opportunities to learn from others, and also opportunities to serve. Although I didn't always have the best attitude, I am super glad now I was able to help with a bunch of different service projects including : helping people move, doing yard work, helping put up Christmas lights, and volunteering at a soup kitchen. I try to live my faith the best I can by being an example of what I believe. I believe with all my heart, mind and soul that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind and me. So I try the best I can everyday to live my life as Jesus Christ did. I try to show kindness and mercy and forgiveness because that is what He did to others, and to me. I far from being perfect, but I am trying, and that's just about all I can do! I am also currently serving in Japan to try to teach those about Jesus Christ, and his wonderful message. I feel very blessed to have a knowledge about Christ, so I sharing what I know to be true with the great people here in Japan.

What is being a Mormon like?

Its like going to an awesome party, and then while partying, you find a door that leads to an even awesomer party, and then you go inside, and you are like ''nice!''. Show more Show less
