Hi I'm Ryan Peeples

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am an electrical engineer and science enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently going to UCLA for my Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and working to pay off school. I enjoy technology and also find a lot of interest in nature. I really enjoy learning new things, there are just so many awesome things to learn in this world. I enjoy meeting new people and finding out their story. I really believe that everyone has a unique story to share with other people. I also love reading books and getting into stories. I especially love fantasy books.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always grown up in the church. I have a loving and very supportive family that have taught me the Gospel my whole life. There comes a time, however, when you must find out for yourself if the religion you've been taught as a kid is true. When I was 14 years old, I started to question the existence of God and many other similar things. At that time, I was going through many trials. It was hard to find faith at that time. I have always been taught to pray to Heavenly Father and He will let you know the truth for yourself. I decided to put this in practice. For awhile, I did not receive an answer to my prayers. I continued to pray every night for an answer. It took about a month to receive an answer to my prayers. It came in a way that I did not expect. It was an overwhelming feeling like I never felt before. It felt like pure love, comfort and strength to overcome my trails. Through that same feeling, I also came to know that the church was true. I have faced many other trials in my life, like everyone, but I am glad that I know that there is a loving Heavenly Father who is willing to help us out. I have received a lot of help from Him and I know that others can also experience His help if they reach out to Him. When I was 19, I decided to go on a mission to help others to feel the love, comfort, and strength that I have come to feel from my Heavenly Father. I was really glad that I got that opportunity. I served for 2 years in the southern regions in Peru. It was amazing to see the happiness that came into people's lives as they embraced the Gospel. This strengthened my faith in this Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching classes at the church. I also go to the house of members and also bring them the Gospel message. For 2 years, I served a mission to the southern regions of Peru, where I taught the Gospel to the people their in their native language. Every time one of my friends, or a coworker, asks about what I believe in, I am more than happy to share with them. I also organize activities for the church. This includes social activities and service opportunities. This church has not only helped me to develop spiritually, but it has also helped me to develop organizational skills, teaching skills, and it taught me how to reach out and help others. This is through the callings that I have received. Callings are basically responsibilities that we receive as members of the church. This allows me the opportunity to actively participate in the church. I am glad for these opportunities. Other than my responsibilities within the church, I try to live by the commandments that my Heavenly Father has given to me. By living these commandments, I feel happy. Of course, I fall short sometimes, and for that I am grateful for the process of repentance. Repentance is turning away from the sin and trying your best to correct damages that have been done.
