Hi I'm Alisha

I grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, moved to Australia 4 years ago and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Every New Zealander loves RUGBY!! (Go the mighty HURRICANES!!) I grew up in auckland and loved playing sport. My number one game is Touch rugby. Since moving to australia ive only been able to play sport in the coporate games. I'm currently working full time and trying to finish off my studies. Unlike some i realised at a later stage in life that qualification are important to obtain. A life lesson been well learnt. I'm currently in the middle of completing my Diploma in Life Coaching and have been awarded through my job a opportunity to do finish off my Diploma in Business.

Why I am a Mormon

Through my life experience the gospel has taught me that life is a journey not a endless battlefield. That the focus is more on celebrating our achievements, rather than the difficult hardships that bound us from achieving the est we can be. Learning and building that relationship of understanding with my Savior Jesus Christ has been a humbling experience. His love and endless sacrifice I have come to know that my burdens are lighter and continue to be lifted through the power of the scriptures. I took a challenge that was given to me many years ago to read the Book of Mormon and to pray with real intent to know if the content of this book is true. I like many was very sceptical about religion, as I found it hard to really understand the concept of who God and Jesus were and what parts that they had to play in my life. Through this chapter of my life 4 years later I stand as a witness that I have received my own spiritual witness that the guidance of the ancient prophets from the Book of Mormon were called of God and their counsel is still relevant to us in these days. “We do not know what we do not do for ourselves” So as a member of the true church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints i share you that i am a Mormon because i know that God lives that He loves me. That he sent his Son Jesus Christ to atone for me. I have seen and been through many things in my life but this journey of discipleship has been one ride that hasnt been easy but has been totally worth it!

How I live my faith

As a member of the gospel of Jesus Christ we have a obligation to follow and continue on His (Jesus Christ) work on the earth today. So how do i proactively live My Faith? I first everyday seek guidence through prayer and through reading my scripture for that spiritual guidence. I serve in my ward as a counsellor to the Young Women President. I have a fantastic opportunity to teach Young Women from the age of 14 to the age of 16 about the principles and ordinances of the gospel. How they are able to overcome the adversity of the world. How to be better disciples of Jesus Christ, by being a example of Charity, Faith, Hope, Love, Peace and desire to always do good. Sisterhood, Relief Society of the church also allows me and another member are able to visit some of the member families of the ward once a month and able to share a spiritual message with them and their families. We are able to provide support if possible to any adversity that the family is facing be able to seek assistance if need be. I live my faith by living what i preach. By being a example to my family, friends and especially to the members of my ward.
