Hi I'm David

I was born in Texas, I study philosophy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 27 years old, married to the love of my life, she is a friend I've had for many years online and one of the smartest people I've ever met. I love to learn and I study everything on religion that I can find. If I'm not reading over some ancient forgotten text then I'm chatting with my friends on the internet.

Why I am a Mormon

I have studied every religious text I can find, from the Nag Hammadi and the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Talmud, Morals and Dogma. I've read whole encyclopedias literally end to end. Still, after all the searching through the ancient kabbalah, zoroastrianism, the Golden Dawn, etc I was l left hungering for a truth that I only got from Mormonism. All these different faiths had pieces of the puzzle but when I returned to the church of my youth as an adult I found all those truths that had been hid up from the world once again in plain sight. Not one other religion spoke of worlds without end or exaltation or any number of special teachings that we hold sacred in our tradition. I am a Mormon because I know that it has teachings simple enough for a child and elaborate enough for a scholar. It's really a religion for the intellectuals. Mormonism never leaves me with the answer of "just because." There is always more to be learned and more to be revealed. We are not a stagnant church, when modern revelation is needed it is freely given. Even personal revelations for ourselves and our own families are given. The holy ghost speaks to us because we are the children of God. As such we are meant to inherit all the same power and glory of our father. Our destiny is to be co-creator along with our father. I know the church is true and I know we have a living prophet on this Earth today. I know this with all my heart and mind.

How I live my faith

I am a priesthood holder and my wife was recently baptized in the local church. Me and my wife make it to our ward at least every Sunday to partake in the sacrament. We meet with home teachers, pray, and read scripture together. We just moved from the Young Single Adults ward to a family ward and we love meeting all these new faces.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?
