Hi I'm Alexis

I grew up in St. George, Utah. I just got into the Nursing Program and hope to serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi there :) My name is Alexis. I moved around a lot in my childhood because my dad was in the Navy. We had the incredible opportunity to live in Guam for three years and I learned what really matters in this life as we saw the humble lifestyle of some of the locals there as well as other islands/places we were able to visit. We moved back to the US and ended up settling down in Southern Utah where I attended school. I love traveling, going boating at the lake with my fam (lake powell trips are a favorite), scuba diving, surfing the California beaches, snowboarding, training for triathlons (running, swimming, biking), etc. After I graduated from high school I received a few running scholarships for track and cross country, but I decided to face the freezing cold tundra of BYU-Idaho and focus on getting a nursing degree. I absolutely loved the experiences I had up there, the people I met, the incredible professors, and the atmosphere of the campus despite the cold weather. I graduated from BYU Idaho's Nursing Program December of 2013 and gosh it was one of the hardest most stressful things I've ever done...but it was such an incredible accomplishment and I definitely couldn't have done it alone. I learned so much and I definitely don't regret the long journey it took to finally become a registered nurse. My next adventure in life will be spent in San Antonio Texas as a sister missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I am the second oldest in a family of five girls, no brothers. My parents have always been such incredible examples for me and have taught us to have faith and trust in our Father in Heaven through applying the principles of the gospel in our lives. While I was younger I definitely relied a lot on my parents and their testimonies. It wasn't until I went off to college that I really developed my own true testimony of our Heavenly Father, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I have had many trials and challenges in my life, times where I have felt completely lost and alone and have learned to put my complete trust in God and know that He loves me...He loves all of us as His children. I am a Mormon because I know this church is true and have felt the Spirit so strongly testify of this for me. I am thankful to know that my family can be together forever, that is one of the most comforting and reassuring blessings that this gospel has brought into my life and gosh it just makes me SO so happy!

How I live my faith

I can't imagine where or who I'd be without the gospel in my life and try to live it everyday through serving those around me, fulfilling church callings, attending the temple, attending church meetings, reading the scriptures, and praying (always). I received an answer to my prayers that I should serve a mission, and despite all the sacrifices I am making, I decided to put my life on hold for a time to serve my Father in Heaven for 18 months and was called to serve in the Texas San Antonio Mission. I have learned that we can all be missionaries everyday just by the example we set and the life that we live.
