Hi I'm Jonathan Harris

I live in Hagerstown MD with my wife and 3 kids. I help kids hear their teachers better. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wife and three kids who I love dearly. I enjoy running, hiking, camping, watching birds, basically, anything outdoors. I also enjoy repairing and tuning old pianos. I also enjoy watching old movies with a big bowl of popcorn. Did I mention I also like food? All kinds of food, but I really like making soups and stews.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17, I decided to read the Book of Mormon. I found that by reading that book, I started to change my life for the better. While reading it, I felt more and more peace enter into my life. I finally prayed to know it was true and felt the spirit touch my heart and confirm that it is. I have tried to follow since then and have had many opportunities to grow and better my life through helping in the church. By helping, I have found that I grow to be a better person. I still have many struggles, but through God's help, I continue to slowly overcome my weaknesses.

How I live my faith

I pray morning and night, and am trying to get to know God better. I feel if I can talk to him regularly, I can get to know him and learn to be more like him. I study the scriptures daily and try to think about them. I have worked with the Scouts and the youth quite a bit, but I also have worked with the men in the church as a teacher. I have also helped plan some church activities such as a valentines dance, a pinewood derby for adults, and a couple of turkey bowl tournaments. Mostly, I have found that by being willing to help with whatever, God blesses me, and I have been blessed with many friendships by serving.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Jonathan Harris
Every time I see a snowflake, and realize there are no two snowflakes alike, or when I see a bird, the sky, the stars, etc, I realize that there had to be a higher being. Every time I experience a miracle (and they do happen all the time) I know that God loves me and his children. I know that he loves us because he has blessed me with all his tender mercies.
