Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in Idaho. I've pitched from on top of mounds and I've climbed to the tops of mountains. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm studying Exercise Science at Brigham Young University to become a physical therapist. I love climbing mountains. To me, mountains are nature's noblest representation of hard work, goals, and being close to God. I grew up in a family of four sisters and my parents, so being the only boy was unique. However, once my sisters all started cooking I enjoyed it immensely. I grew up playing baseball, football and the piano. I have always enjoyed reading, hiking, messing around with fireworks, and building things in the backyard.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because this church is Christ's. He is the fountain and source of all righteousness and Eternal Life, and so I follow his commandments. His name is the only name that can bring salvation, why would I turn to any other source? How do I know this? Because I have received a witness from the Holy Ghost, a member of the God Head, who has told me in my heart that this is Christ's church. He has taught me through feelings of peace, power, and joy. When the Holy Ghost is present in my life, I can feel the love of God too large to fit in my heart. It spills over and bears testimony to me that Christ is the way, this is his church, he is my light.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by obeying the commandments of God. These includes the words of my parents, church leaders, apostles, the prophet Thomas S. Monson, and the scriptures. They know what's best for me and so I seek to follow their counsel. I am serving others in my congregation, which consists of other single college students, by organizing weekly activities called Family Home Evening. Every Monday evening a group of us get together to be a "family" and have fun together like a family would. It's great to support each other because we all have busy lives.
