Hi I'm Jacob Wahlquist

I will be serving a mision in Turkey from 2012 to 2104. I like drawing cartoons and listening to Dub-Step. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I like drawing cartoons, doing graphic design and playing video games. I enjoy hanging out with friends. I love reading books, mostly sci-fi and fantasy. I also enjoy playing ultimate frisbee and 4-square. I graduated High School then worked for a summer in road construction. I've also worked as a 'gopher' or 'shop-hand' for a trucking company. I've moved around the western United States quite a bit. I've earned my Eagle scout rank but never actually collected it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the LDS church but that doesn't mean I blindly accepted it as true. There have been times where I would question what I was learning and ask myself "what if we are really wrong and a different church is true." However, whenever I would have these questions I would continue to study what I knew and pray about it. The more I did so the more I learned that this church is indeed true. That we do indeed have the restored Gospel and it is through Jesus Christ we can be saved.

How I live my faith

From the time I was 12 I've callings in my church. This would vary from being the president over my age group to being 1st counsler, 2nd counsler or even secretary. I've helped with service projects, many service projects. They would be anything from rakeing leaves on the lawn of an elderly person, who couldn't do so themselves, to cleaning up dead branches and pruneing trees at a national park. In my last ward I was a secretary while aslo helping to organize 'mix-and-mingle' events, which basically is a big dinner to help the single people get to know each other. And very recently I've decided to serve a mission for my church (well I decided I would a long time ago, but now I'm actually doing it). I will be serving in Turkey for 2 years bringing the gospel I love and hold dear to them in their native tounge (which is Turkish).
