Hi I'm Justin Low

I grew up in Canada. I am training to be a family doctor. I am married with 4 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I met my beautiful wife while we were both students at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Together we have 4 children ages 5, 3, 3 (yes, twins!) and 2 months. We enjoy spending simple family time together such as going to the park or watching Disney movies. Sometimes it can be really busy and hard with lots of little children, so my wife and I are praying and working hard to have patience and raise our kids in a positive, loving environment. I am an avid sports fan. Growing up I participated in basketball, volleyball, baseball, football, golf, badminton, soccer, waterskiing and hockey. I still love playing sports and watching them on TV. I took 8 years of piano lesons and completed through level 8 in the Royal Conservatory of Music. I also took organ lessons and played the organ in my local chuch congregation. I played the french horn for three years while in Junior High School. I have an Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Brighham Young University and a Medical degree from the University of Alberta. Currently I am completing a two year residency in Family Medicine and plan on practicing medicine in a rural setting.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who watches over us. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is led by a true prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson, who communicates directly with God and in turn gives us the word of God. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and know it is a true book from God. I know God hears and answers my prayers. The standards of the church have been such a huge blessing in my life - every important decision I have made in my life has been influenced by the teachings of the gospel. The decision to avoid alcohol and drugs as a teenager, the decision to avoid pre-marital sex, the decision to go on a mission for the church, and the decision to get married and have kids while still completing a demanding educational program are all because of the teachings of the church. I had a great family life growing up in a family with 8 children and my parents were great examples of faithful followers of Christ. I want that same type of life for my children and I know that there is safety and peace for families because of Jesus Christ. I want my kids to develop a strong faith in Christ and I know that my membership in the church is the best way for that to happen. I love Jesus Christ and I love everything about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

In our home we try to live our faith on a daily basis by praying and reading from the scriptures together. Our kids take turns praying and reading. I also spend personal time in the scriptures and praying every day. By reading the scriptures I learn more about Christ and then try to follow his example and develop Christlike attributes in my own character. We also try to be good neighbors and do little acts of kindness for those around us with our children participating. I have three families from church that I visit on a monthly basis to share a spiritual message with and make sure all of the spiritual and physical needs are being met. I make a special effort to take them a plate of goodies on their birthdays. I find taking note of special occassions in their lives helps them know I really care. I also work along side the missionaries for the church to help coordinate their efforts in our local area. We help them find people who are interested in learning more about the gospel of Jesus Christ and assist them in teaching and welcoming those people who want to be baptized and join the church.
