Hi I'm Jadon Bouwhuis

I grew up in Utah. I am athletic, funny, and a great listener. I am 18 years old. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of four children. I live in the beautiful mountains of Utah and spend most of my time with friends, family, and team mates. I am attending a local High School and take several courses at the nearby college. When I'm not working or at school I fill my time with sports or helping others. I have been assigned to serve a mission for the church in Hamilton, New Zealand I report to the MTC in New Zealand on August 4, 2016

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and I was able to lean on my parents testimony for quite some time but I never quite knew for sure why I was a Mormon until I was about twelve. When I turned twelve I really wanted to know for sure that the church was true and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ were real and that everything I had learned as a kid was true so I decided to pray. The conformation I received was profound and one of the most spiritual experiences I have had my entire life and I have never forgotten it and never will. Because of this experience I know without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church, that Christ lives and he atoned for each one of us, that he loves us and wants us to return to live with him again someday, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and Thomas S. Monson is a true and living prophet on the earth today.

How I live my faith

Put simply I live my faith through my thoughts, words, and actions. I strive to keep my thoughts clean and uplifting at all times especially with the fiery darts of the adversary attacking the minds of youth today with unpleasant and unclean thoughts. Whenever I find my mind start to stray I think about the song "I Stand all Amazed" which really helps me to keep my thoughts focused on Christ. What we say tells a lot about the kind of person we are. The typical answer for having clean language is not swearing, while this is very important one of the focuses I have when it comes to language deals more with not backbiting and constantly talking negative. Instead I look for the best in people and let them know of those things I enjoy about them. Christ was the perfect example of selflessness and service and I turn to him to help me choose how to act. This makes it possible for me to act in a way I feel pleases my father in heaven. When I walk into the lunch room at school I make it a goal to find at least one person who is eating alone and eat with them. I make sure to include everyone I can in activities. Clean language, pure and uplifting thoughts, and acting on promptings has enabled me to serve others at my best.
