Hi I'm Kim Hansen

I'm a mother to three boys and have an awesome husband. I've been to 47 U.S. states, and hope to make it to the other 3!

About Me

I grew up in Utah, the sixth of six kids. My parents divorced when I was 7, and I was raised by my mom. I traveled a little bit as a child, but since marrying my husband I have moved 16 times and lived and traveled all over the country. We now live in Ohio and love our small community. We have three sons. Our oldest is serving a mission in Brazil and we love reading about his experiences. Our second plays high school football and basketball and our youngest loves soccer and basketball. I have recently started to learn to knit, (my kids tell me this means I'm old!) and I love to scrapbook and read. I don't love to exercise, but try to do it anyway, because this is the only body I'm getting in this life! I adore babies and children, and hope to have lots of grandkids some day!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, it was always easy to go to church and rely on my mom's testimony. However, when I moved out to go to college I had to decide for myself what direction I wanted my life to go. Suddenly no one was there to make sure I went to church. I didn't always make the best choices, and I knew I was headed down a path I didn't want to be. I felt like I was in a cave that wasn't letting in any light. I KNEW I wanted that light in my life I learned a lot about the atonement at that time of my life and I'm so thankful for it. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins. I know that He is the mediator with our Heavenly Father. Without His mercy, none of us could return to live with our Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I am currently the President of the children's organization, called Primary. This was a very hard calling for me to accept, because I don't see myself as a leader. I was taught that the Lord will always help me if I ask. It took a lot of faith to even say yes, and a lot of faith and prayer since! It is now 9 months later and I can see the growth in myself. I know that Heavenly Father has helped me in this calling. I love the children and I want them to know that they are truly children of God and He loves them. I'm so thankful for a Heavenly Father who blesses His children with opportunities to learn and grow. I'm also so thankful to be an instrument to help bless the children of the church.
