Hi I'm Christin

I'm a college student who grew up in a small town. I love to bake, run, and read. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Idaho and right now I am a college student studying family and consumer science education. I want to teach high school home economics after I graduate. I love going to school because I love learning, and I love to read. I like to just curl up in a blanket on the couch with a good book... that's all it takes to make me happy. I love my life and I love my friends and family. I especially love going camping with my family. Hiking, tents, dutch oven, s'mores... the whole deal. It's my favorite part of summer. My mom taught me how to be a master in the kitchen and I love to bake just about anything. I love to run. I ran my first 5k this summer and it felt so great. I also enjoy photography, playing the piano, and watching movies on long rainy afternoons. One of the greatest experiences of my entire life was being able to participate in the Junior Miss/Distinguished Young Women program while I was in high school. I learned so much and grew in so many ways because of that program and I have now made it my mantra to "be my best self". I am so excited for all that is still ahead of me. Right now I am just trying to make the most of every minute of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life and that is a blessing I am truly grateful for. I am a Mormon because I know without any doubt that the gospel is true and because being a Mormon makes me happy. I know that God lives and He loves all of His children. I know that my life has a purpose and a plan and I know that the only way to find true joy is to live by the standards and principles that Heavenly Father has given us through the scriptures and words of modern day prophets. I believe in Christ and I know that He atoned for my sins as well as yours. He has been through every thing we will ever have to face, and it is such a comfort for me to know that He will always be there for me no matter what. I know that I am a daughter of God and He wants me to be happy. If I simply trust Him and strive to do my best, then everything will work out in the end. I know that I can face anything with the strength of the Lord. I know that the true church has been restored to the earth with the help of the prophet Joseph Smith. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and the words in it are true. I have faith that if I live righteously and do all I can to be more like Christ, then I will one day return to live with my Heavenly Father and I will be able to be with my family forever. I am a Mormon because there is nothing else I would rather be.

How I live my faith

I currently attend a church with a group of young single adults. It is my calling to help serve the sisters in our ward. I help submit reports, plan meetings and activities, and reach out to those in need. I am also a visiting teacher. I visit a couple of girls every month to talk with them and see how they are doing. I visit with them and sometimes share a spiritual thought, but most importantly, I just try to be their friend.
