Hi I'm Steve West

I'm a CPA, a practicing lawyer, a husband, a father and a grandfather. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am devoted to daily physcial exercise. I love to snow ski and scuba dive. I speak Italian and I am learning Spanish. I enjoy history and I like to garden and work in my yard. I love to be with my family most of all.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of my continuing witness that the Church which Jesus Christ established in the meridian of time has been restored to the earth in modern times. Through numerous experiences, I have come to know for my self that our Heavenly Father lives, that His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, is the Savior and the Redeemer of the world, that prophets and apostles are once again on the earth as in ancient times and that the saving truths and ordinances of the gospel are here to bind families together and help prepare us to live again with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I have served my community by volunteering many times and by serving on the boards of numerous non-profit entities. I've also helped many non-profit groups get their start by helping them with corporate formation and applications for exempt status with the IRS. I have been blessed by my association with many people of good will in our community. I've served as a bishop and a stake president in the Church. These opportunities for service taught me much about myself and about what really matters in life. I am also a home teacher. I and my young companion visit the homes of 3 families at least monthly. We leave a short message of hope and encouragement and look for opportunities to serve. I also teach a class on Sunday, using lessons from the scriptures to invite discussion and learning. I currently serve as the President of the Mesa Easter Pageant, an annual portrayal of life and mission of Jesus Christ. I've been taught much about service, sacrifice and love by the over 800 people who work to put on the pageant each year.
