Hi I'm Kiersten

I was born and raised in sunny California and my dream is to teach English in foreign lands. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest and only daughter in a family of five. I spent my high school days in the music program and I have learned how to read music and play a variety of different instruments. I was the wood wind captain for our marching band my senior year of high school and also awarded the "Out-Standing Mixed Choir" award. I am currently enrolled at my local community college and I look forward to continuing singing there. My career goal is to get my Master's in English and teach abroad in Europe to experience different cultures and ways to better see the world because it is a rather small world when you think about it. My life goal in life is to marry in the temple to the man of my dreams and be a mother to lovely children.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but that is not the reason why I am a Mormon. I decided to be a Mormon, not because my mom told me I had to, but because I believe with out doubt that this church is true. I read the Book of Mormon many times and I prayed for understanding. I believe that Joseph Smith Jr. was a prophet and saw God and Jesus Christ. I believe that he translated the Book of Mormon correctly. Thomas S. Monson is our true prophet today and that he talks to Christ and our Heavenly Father. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God just like the Bible and I read both books on a daily basis. I know who I am from a very simple song that we teach children at a very young age, "I am a Child of God". The gospel of the Mormon church makes me very happy, and I have learned many things. I have been so blessed by the church and I have seen and have been saved by many miracles.

How I live my faith

I have served in callings to help keep the youth of our church happy. They are usually positions given to the youth. Sort of like an ASB at a school. It basically means I either came up with ideas for the kid to do at youth group, set up what ever needed to be set up or took roll of who ever was there. In my city there is a ward set up especially for the the young single adults (YSA). When I graduated I was able to start going to it. For now I am supporting my friend in her calling of making the paper programs for our Sunday meetings.
